Data shouldn’t just be functional—it should be visually engaging and easy to interpret. That’s why Kurve Maximo v1.4.0 introduces three standout features designed to make your data shine.
Data is powerful, but how you present it matters! Now you can highlight cells with color using conditional formatting.
For those who love creating Custom Columns, you can still highlight cells with color based on specific criteria in the same way you always have. With the new conditional formatting interface, however, you can dynamically highlight cells with vivid colors directly in the Kurve report view, making data interpretation a breeze. This feature not only saves time but also adds a vibrant touch to your reports, enabling you to uncover patterns and anomalies at a glance.
Kurve Maximo In Action: Imagine tracking work orders in Maximo. With Conditional Formatting, you can easily highlight work orders by priority; high priority work orders in red, medium priority work orders in orange, and lower priority work orders in green. It’s like a built-in prioritization tool, saving time and boosting productivity.
Numbers are the heart of reporting, and presenting numbers should be versatile. Kurve Maximo now allows you to fine-tune how your numbers are displayed, with options for:
These options allow you to customize data presentation to match your audience’s preferences, making reports easier to interpret and more impactful.
Enable a summary row with just one setting to calculate total aggregation values per column. Whether it’s a sum, average, or count, Kurve handles the calculations effortlessly.
This feature is perfect for anyone looking to provide a clear, high-level overview alongside detailed data. For example, when evaluating work orders by asset type, a summary row can display total costs or hours, giving you instant insight into resource allocation.
Users love how easy it is to step through the creation process in creating a Kurve visual and now there are two enhancements added to this release to make that process even more efficient:
Creating reports and graphs often means sifting through a long list of columns in Parent and Children Objects of the base Maximo Object Structure. With the new comma-separated list search (thank you Chris Winston from Projetech for your feature request ) you can find what you’re looking for in seconds. Just type in a few column names, separated by commas, and let Kurve do the rest. For instance, typing “assetnum, description, location” will instantly display relevant columns.
Let’s be real – you likely have a lot of query definitions you could be applying to your graph or report to reduce data pulls and decrease load time. This enhancement is a game-changer for users managing multiple query definitions. A dedicated search bar lets you locate query definitions instantly. Additionally, the sortable query definition list allows for even greater organization, saving time and reducing frustration.
Consistency in visualizations is key for clear communication. Standardized color templates reinforce your organization’s branding and make graphs visually cohesive. Whether presenting to stakeholders or exporting data, a unified color scheme adds a professional touch.
With Kurve Maximo v1.4.0, Kurve Admins can set default color templates directly in the Admin Portal. Once set, the selected template automatically applies to all new graphs, ensuring a consistent look and feel throughout your reports.
When collaborating across departments, shared graphs and reports can be challenging to interpret. By adding descriptions, you ensure that anyone—from technicians to executives—understands the data’s intent and relevance.
With the new description feature in v1.4.0, you can now add written context to your graphs and reports. This helps your team understand the purpose behind your visualizations, leading to better collaboration and informed decision-making.
Simply use the new description icon in the Action Menu within each graph or report to add your notes – highlight key metrics, explain unusual trends, provide an explanation about the Kurve Custom Column you created, or provide next steps. Your team will thank you for the clarity!
Have you ever tried to open a record in its relevant Maximo Application (e.g. Asset or Work Order), but the ‘Target Application’ wasn’t selected in the creation process of the visual? If so, you probably didn’t get too far – you click the record to open and nothing happens.
Now in v1.4.0, Kurve has your back with a helpful warning at the bottom left of your screen letting you know that no target application was selected, so there’s a reason why you aren’t being navigated to the record in Maximo. This small but impactful feature prevents confusion and allows you (if you’re the author) to add a target application or get in touch with the author or an admin to let them know a target application needs to be selected.
The ‘Action’ menus in Kurve graphs and reports have been reimagined for better usability! When referring to the Action Menu, we’re talking about Editing, Filtering, Refreshing, Duplicating, Sharing, etc. With so many amazing actions to take, the menu itself was over inundated with options.
Now, depending on whether you’re looking at a graph or a report, actions like Share, Duplication, Description, and Export are now neatly tucked under a MORE ACTIONS Menu. This declutters the interface and keeps your most-used functions within easy reach.
Have you made the jump to MAS? The deadline is coming up this year – and whether you’ve made the plunge and are upgrading to 9 or are taking the leap over from 7.6 soon, the great news is Kurve is MAS compatible!
As organizations adopt the latest technologies, Kurve keeps pace. V1.4.0 includes essential backend updates to ensure seamless compatibility with MAS 9. So, your Kurve reports and graphs will function flawlessly alongside the latest Maximo Manage version.
