Imagine managing maintenance across a large portfolio of facilities. You’ve created a bar graph summarizing total work orders by locations. You know you have colleagues who love a good pie chart – so you have a version of this as well. When you go to present the data to your team, you don’t sweat bouncing back and forth between graphs because you used the new related records feature in Kurve!
With our new Related Records feature, linking related graphs and reports allows you to move seamlessly between high-level overviews and detailed data with just a few clicks directly in the graph or report itself.
In the action menu of a graph or report, look for the icon that looks like a connected chain link and click it. In the Add/Edit Related Records window, search for the graph or report you’d like to relate your current visualization too, make your selection and click apply and save.
Now when you click on the chain-link icon, you’ll see the visual you’ve created the link to. Click on its name and you’ll get seamlessly navigated to said graph or report.
No more wasting time hunting through reports or reapplying filters—everything can be connected, making analysis smoother than ever. This feature isn’t just about convenience; it’s about giving you the ability to make decisions faster by keeping the relevant information at your fingertips. The next time you’re asked about pending work orders during a team meeting, you’ll be able to pull up detailed insights instantly.
Graphs are the heart of any data analysis, and in Kurve v1.28, you are getting a revamped interface that makes selecting your Measure Type super intuitive. Previously located under Data Settings (Advanced Settings) in the Edit Graph Window, selecting your Measure Type is now located in the main Graph Details section. Select Measure Type is a drop-down list making it easy to choose how you want to observe your measure data in the graph.
Whether you’re toggling between Sum, Average, Distinct Count, or the newest type, COUNT (see the next paragraph for more info on COUNT), the streamlined interface lets you adjust your visualizations with ease. Picture editing your graph and quickly toggling between Sum and Average rent spend across your lease portfolio by country. Instead of navigating through various settings in the Edit Graph window, you’ll be able to refine your data presentation quickly, uncovering actionable insights in record time.
Coupled with this new selection interface is the addition of COUNT as a new measure type. It allows you to see the total number of records, including duplicates, offering a fresh perspective for tracking trends. For instance, let’s say you’re reviewing room bookings across your organization. Previously, you might have used distinct counts to see how many unique bookings occurred. Now, with COUNT, you can view every instance of room usage, helping you identify patterns like overbooked spaces or under-utilized areas.
A measure is a numeric value that can be calculated. For example:
The dimension is often a qualitative value that categorizes the measure. For example:
MS Excel is still handy to export to, especially if you need to share a report with someone who doesn’t have access to TRIRIGA or you’re looking for a historical snapshot of your data. With v1.28, exports to Excel will now support:
Word wrapping keeps long text fields—like property names or detailed comments—neat and readable, making it easier for your stakeholders to review reports without getting lost in messy layouts.
Trailing zeroes are crucial for figures that require critical precision, like financial data. By retaining the trailing zeroes in an export, data is both accurate and professional-looking right out of the gate.
Someone once said, “The simpler you keep things, the more happiness you have.” Well, that’s the heart behind simplifying the Action Menu in a graph or report. When referring to the Action Menu, we’re talking about Favoriting, Editing, Filtering, Refreshing, Duplicating, Sharing, etc. With so many amazing actions to take, the menu itself was over inundated with options.
Now, depending on whether you’re looking at a graph or a report, actions like Share, Duplication, Description, and Export are now neatly tucked under a MORE ACTIONS Menu, giving you a clean and quicker way to access the tools you need without overwhelming your workspace.
User experience is always top of mind when we’re crafting new features or updating existing features. That’s why we’ve given the Report Settings drawer (the drawer tucked nicely to the right of any Kurve report) a facelift in v1.28.
The updated layout now clearly separates sections for Table, Grouping, and Reset settings, making it easier to navigate and apply changes.
For example, let’s say you’re tasked with creating a report that shows lease agreements grouped by property type. With the improved drawer, you can easily change the number of rows displayed per page, while also selecting how many levels to show in your groupings. Need to reset the settings and start over? The Reset Settings option is clearly visible and user-friendly. These enhancements may seem small, but they add up to a much smoother experience when working on complex reports.
Kurve is on a mission to make reporting intuitive, user-friendly, and stress-free. Each of these updates in v1.28 reflects the commitment to helping you work smarter, not harder. By streamlining workflows, enhancing data clarity, and improving usability, we’re giving you the tools to focus on what truly matters: making informed decisions and driving value for your organization. Whether it’s linking related charts, exporting polished Excel files, or exploring new graphing capabilities, every feature is designed with your needs in mind.
